COMPANY HISTORY & INFORMATION

In 1988, my mother, painter Rosalie Nadeau, purchased the last Gloucester easel made by the fellow who built them for Emile Gruppé and his sons and the Gloucester School of Painting. When other painters saw and desired the easel, my father, Tom Nadeau, began building them in his spare time. After many attempts to improve the original design, the only modifications he made at that time were to use stronger materials.

I took over the easel-building business on Cape Cod during my summer breaks while studying Engineering at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. I have always enjoyed the entire building process, shaping and waxing the wood, and assembling each easel one at a time. Now out of college, and working a full time job...

I am committed to continuing the tradition of
hand crafting the Take-It-Easel with only the highest quality materials, here in the United States.
